Stoke. That’s what this video is all about. The race footage makes this one worth watching––and will get you to watch it twice.  Check out the newest blade in the lineup as Werner launches the 2019 Apex, Werner Paddle’s new performance paddle.

2019 Paddlesports Product of the Year

Look for our Full Review of the Apex Paddle in the Summer Issue of Standup Journal. We’re sure Apex will be a top performer. This paddle has all the craftsmanship, style and smarts we’ve come to expect from Werner. And, it’s already earned the 2019 Paddlesports Product of the Year Award.

The key feature of the Apex blade is a unique concave “power pocket”. It is shaped specifically to give paddlers more confidence in the catch on every stroke, and to provide paddlers with increased stability. The Apex is available in three blade sizes (76-inch, 83-inch and 91-inch) to accommodate a wide range of paddling styles.

Shaft & Performance:  The Apex design

The Apex is offered in both standard and small-fit shaft diameters and is available in two shaft options: the Classic shaft––for those looking to minimize fatigue in longer races or on long recreational paddles––and the Tech shaft––which is recommended for short distance races and maximum power.

Each of the shaft configurations come with 10-degree blade-to-shaft offset for increased efficiency and feature an ergonomic carbon fiber grip for maximum comfort and control.

Werner describes Apex as “the perfect choice for both elite and recreational stand up paddlers looking to reach the ‘Apex’ of their performance”. They add, “achieving Ultimate Paddle Performance is at the core of our designs.”

The Apex video also features Werner athletes Josh Ricco, Tyler Bashor and Dan Gavere. It’s good to hear them talk about how they’re looking for a little extra when they race and to watch them compete.

Again, this video is all about the stoke of being on the water. The race footage is great. The new Apex paddles look cool, too.
