Modern Day Performance and Ancestral Roots:  Jason Latham has it ALL

KeNalu Paddles and Jimmy Lewis team rider Jason Latham is a stoke fest on water.  He is from Georgia and spends most of his time in the waters of Northern Florida when he’s not training on Maui and other far off islands like the Canaries.

JLay’s love for stand up paddle surfing he credits with his Samoan roots.  He says,

“I sometimes think about my Polynesian ancestors and how they utilized the paddles on their traditional canoes, and stories and evidence (such as the Duke) of SUP may have been in the culture long before it became popular today. I honestly get the feeling that SUP was my calling.”

How can you not appreciate the wisdom and depth of a team rider who feels his performance connects back to his heritage & roots?  We salute you, JLay and wish you an awesome 2017 sup season in the year ahead.
