“Every March you can see more types of surfing in Noosa than you ever thought possible. Dogs hanging ten, pro longboarders and tandem surfers can be seen hitting the water for the Noosa Festival of Surfing – the biggest surfing event in the world by competitor numbers.
More than 600 entrants from 15 countries converge on the waves at First Point, cheered by crowds watching from the festival village right in front of the break.
Longboards, SUP, finless, bodysurfing and tandem – each style of surfing is showcased over eight days, with plenty of action in and out of the water. Think: Sunrise yoga with live music, film screenings and costume parties.
But almost outshining the pros, the Dog Surfing Exhibition is a bucket-list-worthy event. Dogs surfing with GoPros strapped to their backs? No brainer.”
