Christian Anderson Joins Fanatic SupWe are happy to announce that a young and very talented rider has joined our International SUP team. 12 year old Danish youngster, Christian Andersen, is now the youngest member of our grom team, joining the likes of Noah Voecker Roche (13), Arthur Arutkin (16) and Jake Jensen (18). Christian lives in Klitmøller/ Denmark´s Cold Hawaii and is out on the water almost every day. He for sure is one of the most promising young talents out there and a great addition to our existing team.

Christian Andersen:
“I am super happy and very proud to be part of the Fanatic team. Lately I have had several offers from different board brands. Fanatic is my favorite Brand. I think it´s a cool team, and I have heard that all team riders are very happy and get along well with each other. I also like the boards a lot and they have a very good design as well as great shapes.”

Klaas Voget, Fanatic Team Rider:
“Christian is a cool little ripper. He’s growing up in a very good crowd of kids pushing each other and having fun in the water every day. He’s not only a dedicated standup-paddler in both, waves and racing, he’s also a passionate surfer with a very good flow. He’s a calm and down to earth young man, who lets his action speak… Christian has a great future ahead of him and we’re very happy to welcome him to the Fanatic team!”

    INTERVIEW WITH CHRISTIAN:

Christian, tell us a bit about yourself and how you got into stand up paddling?

In the summer 2011 I went to Copenhagen with my family to watch a SUP contest with Casper Steinfath. Before that I only paddle surfed. It was definitely love at first sight. But I tried it that day, and founded it fun. I have been very fond of it ever since. Every day all year around I am having a lot of fun on the water with all my friends. I live next door to Casper and Peter Steinfath. And they have trained a lot with me. I love my daily life here.

Why Fanatic boards? Lately I have had several offers from different board brands. Fanatic is my favorite brand. I think it´s a cool team, and I have heard that all team riders are very happy and get along well with each other. I also like the boards a lot – very good designs as well as great shapes.”

You are still going to school – what does a usual day in your life look like? I am going to a private school where we spend a lot of time outdoors. When I am not paddling or surfing I am skating. I have been skating for many years.

Have you got a role model in the SUP scene?

My SUP role model is Casper Steinfath. I have known him for many years. He has taught me a lot of things, and he is a very good friend of mine. But I also really like Victor Fernandez and Klaas Voget as I always meet them at the PWA World Cup, both are super nice guys.

What do you think is important to for success?

I think it´s important to train hard and have fun on the water. I am very dedicated. I want to be the best, and I know that it is important to work hard to get there.

What are your plans for the next years?

To compete in as many contests as possible. I would love to go to other countries. Try bigger waves and spots all over the world. I also have a dream to go to the ISA World Championship.
