to host the 2nd annual WATERMAN ECO-CHALLENGE with one goal: ‘Raise Awareness To Ocean & Sun Safety’ Narragansett, RI, July 16, 2012 – Garrett McNamara – Guinness Big Wave World Record holder, Raw Elements USA Natural Sunscreen, WaveJet Propulsion and Narragansett Surf Rescue join forces on Saturday, July 21 to host lifesaving and paddle racing events along with educational demonstrations.
Safe sun education, lifesaving training and technology along with environmental responsibility are issues that lie at the core of Garrett McNamara’s life mission. “It’s truly amazing for me to be
able to bring two pioneering brands, Raw Elements USA and WaveJet together along with the Narragansett Lifeguards to teach, educate and host these awesome paddle races,” McNamara proclaims
Saturday, July 21 will be a safe, fun filled day at the beach packed with a 3 mile open ocean paddle race, exciting professional rescue clinics and races, patron Stand Up Paddle clinics and patron interactive ocean and sun safety clinics hosted by Raw Elements USA and Narragansett Surf Rescue Lifeguards.
Contestants from all over will be able to enter the 3 mile ocean paddle at the Town Beach either on a traditional Paddle Board or on a Stand Up Paddle Board. Warm Winds Surf Shop will be offering a complimentary Stand Up Paddle Clinic for patrons to have the opportunity to try out the new sport.
Also added this year, the WaveJet Ocean Rescue Lifeguard Challenge – Lifesaving teams from across the nation will be invited to send their best paddler in an open water, one mile paddle race.
The top paddler will receive cash prize and the Lifesaving Agency, a complimentary WaveJet rescue board.
