It was a blistering 98 degrees out on the beach at Pineview today but the hottest thing out there was our new issue! The busiest people in the industry were stunned by what we have done: capture the state of stoke of sup with a look at the waters we have paddled and all the friends we have made in these short yet fun 10 years a sport.
Here are some photo highlights from the Outdoor Retailer
The Hobie Mirage Eclipse Parade – First thing this morning they had an endless loop of these new craft snaking through the buoys on the lake and causing everyone to notice one of the newest and most innovative boards on the water. Sean over at Hobie reported to me that by mid-morning they had already done dozens of demos and were on pace to do hundreds.
Demo Day Beach – All the major players were there and they brought all the water toys with them! At the water’s edge, there was not an inch of wet sand that didn’t have a sleek new water craft parked and ready to ride.
Demo Day Scene – The view from the water was spectacular, the heat on the beach was at times unbearable – so what to do but to get out on the lake and check the scene from water level.
John Amundsen– I’ve known John since he was just some crazy cool kid with a kiteboard in his hands. It’s refreshing to know that some people never change, never loose that child like joy of just enjoying the space and time they are in – and the product they so capably produce.
Zane Schweitzer and friend – This was Zane’s first time at the Pineview Demo Day and he took to it like a seasoned veteran. When a slight breeze kicked in, he rigged up a Starboard Windsup, loaded on a new 4 legged friend and cruised the shore.
Starboard Starship and Red Paddle Co: worlds collide – A little friendly jousting turned into some friendly racing, which turned into some bump and run fun!
