Mike Doyle Surf & SUP heads to Newport Dunes to help fight Breast Cancer

Mike Doyle Surf & SUP will partner with Paddle Board Newport Beach at the Susan G. Komen Orange County event Standup for a Cure, presented by Ambry Genetics, at Newport Back Bay in Newport Beach, CA on Saturday, May 7th.

Doyle and Paddle Board Newport Beach will join a host of other brands and sponsors, along with nearly 1,000 paddlers, in the annual “Sea of Pink” paddle through the waters of Newport Harbor to show the standup paddle community’s support for those who have been directly and indirectly affected by this disease. Breast Cancer is a disease that was diagnosed in nearly 300,000 new cases and caused over 40,000 deaths in 2015 alone* (ACS, Inc., Surveillance Research, 2015). Hundreds of cancer survivors have participated in this event, now in its 7th year.

“Doyle Sales and Marketing Director Trevor Wessman-Lavelle.”]“Paddling is very much community-centered. It’s about unifying under our common passion for life in, on and around the water. Sharing that passion with the Susan G. Komen community here in Orange County at this event, while supporting their efforts in raising breast cancer awareness and funding research toward finding a cure, is nothing short of an honor for us.”

Brand founder Mike Doyle added “This disease is so far reaching and shows no favorites. Most of us, including myself, have been affected in some way by breast cancer when a friend, family member or loved one falls into its grip. This event highlights the zeal for life and compassion we should all have toward one another, especially those who have and continue to ‘stand up’ to fight this disease every day.”

For anyone interested in participating in this event and is in need of a board, you can rent a board at a special event rate through Paddle Board Newport Beach by visiting their website at http://paddleboardnewportbeach.com/pages/rentals.
