This project has been long needed to share what spectacular waters we have to share in Florida. Please feel free to reach out if we can help from Florida's second Oldest City, New Smyrna Beach. Proud to say our ICW, lagoon flats, and consistent surf offer a great representation of Florida.

Take care and happy paddling,

Monday...Monday..can't help that day.. out at 3:30 till 5:15 (w/out company half the time).
Large sets keep the paddle working @ Long's Lab Point (add in 2 short boarders). Big lines were running large steep sections from 100 + yards outside the point fast to the end of the Natural Bridge's Boils.
It hard to say exactly how big the waves were, but the sections started very hollow of the peak and the short boarders were able to stand upright in the barrels. Timing the last bottom turn and the kick out was critical when the section bent to meet the NB's short left and the closeout shore break (low tide).
A few times, after kicking out, the outside waves were larger and big enough to drop into the NB's lineup from way outside the boils. 10 ft + walls and 10 guys w/ no room for error was easy to back off from. Maybe I would have gone 10 years ago. Large NB's is ....you know...
Aloha,

Hi,

I just wanted to say thank you to both Jennifer Hunt and Tomoko Okazaki for writing this article and Julia Schweiger for the beautiful photographs. It is a wonderful story and tribute to Harold 'Iggy' Ige, who I really knew as "Uncle Harold" - my mother's brother.
